Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

PAC Meeting Minutes:

What’s a PAC?

In BC, every public school has a Parent Advisory Council—a fancy way of saying parents/guardians get a voice too!
If you’ve got a student at Merritt Secondary, congrats: you’re automatically a member! No signup, no password, no secret handshake.

What Do We Actually Do?

  • Share parent perspectives with the principal and staff
  • Help keep communication flowing between home and school
  • Plan events, offer parent learning opportunities, and support student activities
  • Cheer on projects that help students
  • We’re a non‑fundraising PAC—so join us for ideas, not tasks!

Why Join?

  • Have a real say in what affects your student's school experience
  • Hear what’s happening before your teen “forgets” to tell you
  • Connect with other parents who also don’t get enough emails

Meetings

We meet every second Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the MSS Library.
Come for the info—stay because you accidentally sat near someone nice.
