What’s a PAC?
In BC, every public school has a Parent Advisory Council—a fancy way of saying parents/guardians get a voice too!
If you’ve got a student at Merritt Secondary, congrats: you’re automatically a member! No signup, no password, no secret handshake.
What Do We Actually Do?
- Share parent perspectives with the principal and staff
- Help keep communication flowing between home and school
- Plan events, offer parent learning opportunities, and support student activities
- Cheer on projects that help students
- We’re a non‑fundraising PAC—so join us for ideas, not tasks!
Why Join?
- Have a real say in what affects your student's school experience
- Hear what’s happening before your teen “forgets” to tell you
- Connect with other parents who also don’t get enough emails
Meetings
We meet every second Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the MSS Library.
Come for the info—stay because you accidentally sat near someone nice.
